Your Pleasure Routine Deserves an Upgrade

Your Pleasure Routine Deserves an Upgrade

We upgrade everything.

Our phones. Our TVs. Our mattresses. Our skincare routines. Even the coffee maker eventually gets replaced by something faster, smarter, and better.

So why are some people still hanging onto the same old pleasure routine?

There’s nothing wrong with having favorites, but exploring something new can bring fresh energy to solo play or time with a partner. And you don’t have to completely reinvent your sex life to do it.

Start With Something Different

If you normally reach for the same style of toy every time, change one thing.

Try a different shape. Experiment with a new sensation. Add vibration where you normally wouldn't. Try something designed for couples instead of solo play—or vice versa.

Sometimes a small change is enough to make an experience feel completely new.

Stop Treating Foreplay Like the Opening Act

Foreplay doesn't have to be something you rush through to get somewhere else.

Slow things down.

Massage, teasing, kissing, touching, toys, anticipation—make the buildup part of the main event.

For couples, toys can also take some of the pressure off both partners. Instead of worrying about performing, you can concentrate on experimenting together and figuring out what actually feels good.

Your Toy Drawer Should Evolve With You

What you enjoyed five or ten years ago may not be what excites you today.

That's normal.

Your preferences can change with your relationships, confidence, experience, and curiosity. Think of your collection less like a drawer full of gadgets and more like a pleasure toolbox.

Different experiences call for different tools.

Take Care of What Takes Care of You

A better pleasure routine also means taking care of your toys.

Clean them according to the manufacturer's instructions, store them properly, keep rechargeable toys charged, and periodically inspect older products for wear or damage.

And if something has clearly reached the end of its useful life?

Retire it.

You wouldn't keep using a ten-year-old toothbrush. Your favorite ancient vibrator doesn't deserve diplomatic immunity either.

Make Pleasure a Priority

The biggest upgrade may have nothing to do with what you buy.

Give yourself permission to enjoy yourself.

Pleasure isn't something that needs to be earned, saved for a special occasion, or squeezed into the last ten minutes before falling asleep.

Whether you're exploring alone or with someone else, make some time, turn off the distractions, and have some damn fun.

Your pleasure routine doesn't need rules. It just needs to work for you.
